By now you’ve heard, traditional 4th of July events have all been canceled this year due to coronavirus. That doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate. Below are some events that are still happening safely and some ideas for at-home celebrations. Happy 4th of July!

Truckee River Float Trip

Self-guided or through one of the many tour companies, your family can have a nice leisurely float down the Truckee River. Check out local companies that offer whitewater tours

Check Out Artown

Artown is Reno’s month-long summer arts festival that features around 500 events, most free or low cost. This year, many of the events will be held virtually. Live events will be open to the public so long as participants comply with COVID-19 Safety Protocols. Check out the Artown calendar of events

Watch It on the Big Screen

Kick-off your 4th of July weekend by spending Friday evening at West Wind El Rancho Drive-In where movie lovers can enjoy free movies every Friday during the month of July. Gather the family, pack some snacks and enjoy an evening of movies under the stars. See what’s playing

Backyard BBQ w/ Local Pairings

If you’re planning on firing up the BBQ, pair your menu items with local craft beer. Many of the local breweries such as Alibi Ale Works offer pick-up and delivery. If beer isn’t your thing, try wine instead. See a list of local wine and brew
