It’s no doubt that the holiday season is going to be quieter than normal. With COVID spiking in certain areas, there will definitely be a lot less travel. To combat the loneliness why not sign up as a volunteer for the Humane Society?
Become a Foster Family
The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is able to save so many lives thanks, in part, to their foster program. The Foster Program is a vital, life-saving program that makes an enormous difference for the animals in their care. Foster families provide a loving environment for HSTT pets who need a little extra TLC while awaiting adoption. You can choose to foster dogs, cats, puppies and kittens…whatever best fits into your lifestyle. We’ll provide all the support and supplies that you’ll need.
If you are interested in joining the family of foster volunteers, you will first need to attend a general volunteer orientation. This orientation covers the goals and policies of the organization and explains volunteer opportunities. The orientation is now online. Please contact Erin Ellis, the Community Engagement Director for volunteer orientation information at erin@hstt.org.
Once you’ve completed the general volunteer orientation, please reach out to Samantha Laroche, the Volunteer and Foster Program Manager at samantha@hstt.org to be provided the information for foster training.
