TahoeKidz, founded in 2017, is an online source that focuses on toddler-friendly activities and family fun around Lake Tahoe and Truckee. The organization recently created the Tahoe Strong and Truckee Strong decals to support the Sierra Community House in April, and the Sierra Relief Kitchen in May. The decals represent one of the many projects underway that support local non-profits during the COVID-19 crisis. Christina Spain Temple from TahoeKidz had this to say:
“In these strange and trying times, it is difficult to feel our typical strong sense of community that is so engrained in the Tahoe Truckee area, especially when we are sequestered at home. However, even at home, we are still together in this fight to sustain our region. We have been purchasing gift cards from local businesses, purchasing take out from local restaurants, and donating food to local food banks. Together, we are STRONG.
Sierra Community House is supporting the most vulnerable in our community now more than ever. It will take time for the Tahoe/Truckee region to rebound from this blow and not everyone will recover quickly. We reached out to Sierra Community House with our idea to help support their efforts and they loved it!”
May’s partner is the Sierra Relief Kitchen, a collaborative effort to use available resources to provide for the Tahoe/Truckee community during these unprecedented times.
With your $8 purchase of either a Truckee Strong or Tahoe Strong decal, 100% of the proceeds (approximately $5 after costs) will go to Sierra Community House. The decals are made of high-quality adhesive vinyl and made for indoor/outdoor use. They measure approximately 4.5 inches by 2.5 inches. Perfect for your car, travel mug, boat, paddleboard, Yakima Box, bike helmet, etc.
