Lined with quaint shops and restaurants, Historic downtown Truckee bustles with old west charm and excitement. Both the Truckee River and Union Pacific Railroad run through the middle of town, and many original buildings from the days following the gold rush still stand. Walk to restaurants, bike to the weekly farmer’s market, raft the Truckee River, bike the Legacy Trail – it’s all right at your downtown doorstep. And Tahoe’s famous ski resorts, lakes, mountain biking, and hiking, are all only a short drive away.
From stately Victorians to Californian bungalows, many downtown homes have historical architectural significance and are built up above town with views of the Sierra Crest or on the banks of the Truckee River.
